Chance Voight's F4U Corsair was one of the main fighter aircraft of the US Navy and Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. Because demand for the aircraft exceeded Vought's manufacturing capabilities, Goodyear joined the production ranks of the "Pirate". The Corsair produced by Goodyear was named FG. From the time the aircraft first entered the U.S. Navy in 1940 until the last one was delivered to France in 1953, Vought produced 12,571 F4U Corsairs. Includes up to 16 different models. It is the longest-produced piston fighter in U.S. history.
